What are the different types of events?

As an event planner, you’ll have to plan all sorts of events throughout your career. This is one of my favourite parts of my job! No event is like another, meaning no day at work is ever like another. Need help deciding on your next event? Here are three different types of events that can be beneficial for you or your business:

Corporate Events:
Put together by businesses or companies, corporate events serve various purposes related to their operations. These events are typically geared towards achieving specific business objectives, such as product launches or promotions, summer or Christmas parties, team-building activities, commemorating company milestones, or networking with clients and partners. With a formal and professional tone, corporate events gather employees, clients, stakeholders, and industry professionals.

Private Events:
Private events, on the other hand, are intimate gatherings or celebrations organized by individuals or families for personal reasons. This could be a baby shower, wedding, reunion or birthday party! Unlike corporate events, private gatherings have a more personal atmosphere, focusing on celebrating special moments with close individuals. At Flyberry Events, we just launched our Wedding division to help you plan the wedding of your dreams in 2024 and onwards!

Non-Profit Events:
Non-profit events are hosted by charitable organizations, NGOs, or other non-profit entities to raise funds, create awareness about a cause, or engage with supporters. These events can include charity runs, fundraising galas, awareness campaigns, or community outreach programs. The primary goal of non-profit events is to promote their mission and garner support for their initiatives. Although they share similarities with corporate and private events, non-profit gatherings are distinct in their dedication to serving charitable or social causes. Attendees include donors, volunteers, beneficiaries, and members of the public interested in supporting the organization's mission! Check out our previous interview with Zeffy about how to plan a successful fundraising event.

Each event type has its own unique purpose, target audience, and ambiance. Feel free to contact me if you’ve got additional questions about event planning!
